South Africa & Madagascar Safari

Days 1, 2, 3 and 4 - Cape Town, South Africa

Cape Town is one of the most scenically beautiful cities in the world, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and crossed by mountains, it really does have it all. Stanley Safaris has partnered with some of the best guides in the city so you can spend your days exploring Cape Town and surrounding Winelands in a unique way, specifically tailored to your interests. Whether you are interested in the arts, the history of South Africa, the vibrant food scene, being active, or simply want to explore a variety of wine farms and sample the incredible wines, we can make that all happen. Cape Town is our home, this is what we live and breathe each day, so we know the secret little spots away from the crowds.

Days 5, 6 and 7 - Sabi Sands Game Reserve

From Cape Town you fly to the Sabi Sands where you will be met by your guide for a safari in the world famous Sabi Sands, bordering the Kruger National Park. The Sabi Sands shares an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park, allowing the free movement of wildlife and therefore ensuring a rich wildlife experience. The Sabi Sands is renowned as one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five. From our lodge enjoy morning, afternoon, and night game drives as well as walking safaris in search of the wildlife of the Sabi Sands. The Sabi Sands is world famous for its leopard sightings. Leopards are traditionally shy, but for some reason the leopards of the Sabi Sands are more relaxed around vehicles, allowing guests unique opportunities to see them day and night. The Sabi Sands is also home to cheetahs, wild dogs, and other general animals.

Day 8 - Johannesburg

From the Sabi Sands head back to Johannesburg for the night.

Day 9 - Antananarivo, Madagascar

From Johannesburg, you fly to Antananarivo (Tana), the capital of Madagascar, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the night. Tana is a colorful city with lively markets throughout the center of town. Spend the day relaxing or exploring the city

Days 10, 11 and 12 - Andasibe-Mantadia National Park

After breakfast, your driver/guide will collect you from the hotel and drive you 3 hours east to Andasibe National Park for the start of your Madagascar lemur safari. Andasibe is one of the more accessible national parks in Madagascar, making it one of the most popular forests to explore. Home to some of the more impressive lemurs including the largest lemur in Madagascar, the indri-indri. A large black and white teddy bear-looking lemur, the indri’s calls can be heard echoing through the forest mist in the mornings. The eerie cry gives their location away as you head into the forest in search of these beautiful animals.

Other iconic lemurs in Andasibe-Mantadia include the diademed sifaka which is a gold, grey, white and black sifaka. Truly arboreal, they are masters of the forest moving from tree to tree with such ease.

Spend your days exploring the forests in search of lemurs, chameleons, and the other endemic creatures of this incredible island.
