Namibia Flying Safari

Day 1 - Windhoek
On your arrival into Windhoek you will be met and transferred to the guesthouse for the night.
Days 2 and 3 - Wolwedans
You have an early start. After breakfast head back to the airport where you will meet your pilot and guide for the Namibian flying safari. From Windhoek you fly south to Sossusvlei, departing at 7am to take advantage of the day and still air. Sossuvlei have some of the highest sand dunes in the world, some of them towering over 300 meters high. Deadvlei is one of the famous sights of Namibia and is a white vlei surrounded by red sand dunes. Inside the vlei are petrified trees that make for some incredible photo opportunities. Get there early to avoid the crowds and to get the best light.

After your visit to Sossusvlei you continue flying south to Wolwedans in the NamibRand Private Nature Reserve. for the next 2 nights. This afternoon enjoy a game drive in the reserve, in search of the desert adapted animals that live here. Oryx, springbok, bat eared foxes, ostriches and if you are lucky cheetah.

The following morning you carry on south to Lüderitz on the Atlantic coast. Here you get to enjoy a day long Elizabeth Bay Safari which introduces people to the town of Luderitz as well as the nearby ghost town of Kolmanskop. On your flight back to Wolwedans you pass over Spencer Bay with its picturesque Otavi shipwreck.
Day 4 - Damaraland
This morning after breakfast you head north to Swakopmund for a refuel before continuing north along the coast. The low-level flying along the Skeleton Coast allows you to see the seal colony at Cape Cross. After a picnic on the beach you head inland and fly over the desert and mountains of Damaraland and into the Huab River Valley where you spend the night in a rustic camp.
Day 5 - Kunene Region
After breakfast you have a chance to explore the colourful red lava and yellow sandstone of the Huab River Valley. The area is home to desert adapted animals including elephants, giraffe, lion, oryx and more. After your morning exploring you continue flying back to the Skeleton Coast to Terrace Bay passing some of the more famous shipwrecks of Montrose and Henrietta.

After landing on the beach you explore the dunes and beach by Land Rover, looking for bleached whale bones scattered along the high-water mark. From here you continue north by plane to the Hoarusib Valley in the Kunene Region.
Day 6 - Kunene River
The area around the Hoarusib Valley is home to the nomadic Himba people who have carved out an existence in this harsh environment. Spend the morning learning more about their cultures and way of life. After your time with the Himbas you continue north along the Skeleton Coast to the Kunene River which forms a border with Angola. From the airstrip the guides take you by Land Rover for a lunch stop before continueing through the mountains and dunes of the Hartmann Valley to the camp on the Kunene River.
Day 7 - home
Enjoy a morning trip along the Kunene River looking for birds and crocodiles and then after lunch at camp you fly back south to Windhoek, arriving late afternoon.
